My web design posting days are over

Unfortunately, this blog is no longer a grade in my web design class. Therefore, it is no longer a grade for me to write this. I will most likely post more in this blog, but they will no longer be posted regularly.

Skins that i own

These aren't all the skins that i have. To be honest this is only the tip of the iceberg. Skins are a great way to express yourself and distinguish yourself from other players

Urf The Manatee

Urf OriginalSkin.jpg
Urf lives on in our hearts
Urf the Manatee was never actually put into the game. However, if you ask anyone about him, they will express a deep desire to play as urf the manatee. Urf was an april fools joke that riot games put into the game. However, people still clamored for urf to be a playable character. So Riot games did the next best thing. You may notice that he has a spatula in his flipper and a fish in his belt. The spatula was supposed to symblize the manatee people's cooking knowledge, and the fish was to symbolize their home the ocean. They made an Urf the Manatee skin for warwick.

URRRF NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
They put the skin out for only three days. In those three days, 15,000 players bought the skin. It was such a widely loved skin, they put all the proceeds from it to savethemanatee.com. Urf continues to be one of the most widely talked about champions even though he sadly never was.

Singed the Mad Chemist

my brother's favorite skin of singed, surfer singed
Singed is a true tank if there can be one in league of legends. He can soak up damage like no other, he's very fast, and he threatens the enemy team enought that they think twice attacking him even in force. He's my brother's favorite character, a personal favorite of mine, and he's a great tank to have on your team. Singed's passive ability is empowered Bulwhark. Empowered Bulwhark gives him increased health based on how much mana he has. It becomes a huge part of his gameplay in late game especially when he stacks mana. His first ability is poison trail. Poison trail releases poison from singed that damages anyone  who steps in it. His poison is a huge deterrent from people thinking of chasing a singed. His next ability is mega adhesive. Mega adhesive makes a spot near singed that slows enemies significantly if they step in it. Mega adhesive is awesome late game as a disruptor for focused attacks. It also lets singed make an opening for his next ability. That ability is fling. Fling throws an enemy directly behind singed. A good singed will start a poison trail befire he flings. Flings is a good disruptor as well as a good way to initiate because it singles out one person. Singed's ultimate is insanity poison. Insanity poison dramatically increases all of his attributes for a short time. This is particularly good for turret diving and tanking in team fights.

Skins in league of legends

If you looked up the game, you mat have noticed that the champions have more than one appearance. People buy these skins because they want to distinguish themselves from other players or simply like the skin better than the original. These skins are bought using Riot points which are obtained by buying them with real money. Some skins are set apart from the rest as "legendary". These are skins that basically got a total rework for that specific skin. They get new audio clips, a new costume, new effects etc...

This is the Queen ashe skin. There is obviously a noticeable diffeence between this and the original ashe skin. These skins can seperate the people who play the game in their spare time, and people who play constantly.

Garen The might of Demacia

Garen can be played multiple ways. My favorite way to use him is as a dps/ad champion. Garen is a very tanky champion. He can basically make an enemy team think twice before confronting him, and with his passive, he is very hard to lane against. Garen's passive is perserverence. It heals him for .5% of his health every second when he's out of combat (hasn't been hit for 7 seconds). This passive ability helps a lot early game because he can't be killed without prolonged attack. His first ability is decisive strike. Garen gains dramatically increased movement speed  for 4 seconds. It also makes his next attack silence his target as well as dealing damage. Decisive strike is a great late game clincher against any ap champion. If garen can get that ability off, their ap carry, or healer can't do anything for a couple seconds in the beginning of a team fight. His next ability is great for a tanky garen. It's called courage. When he kills a minion, he gains .5 magic resist and armor. The bonus caps at 25. The active part of that ability is that he reduces all incoming damage by 20%. His third ability is judgement. Garen starts spinning and does damage to everything around him. It also removes any slows on him and reduces the time any new slows can affect him. Judgement is great for destroying minion waves as well as chasing enemy champions. Coupled with decisive strike, he can easily catch up to, and end enemy champions. Garen's ultimate is Demacian Justice. Demacian justice brings a huge sword down onto the enemy target. It deals damage based on how much health that target has. The less hp, the more it does. Demacian justice is great for a quick ending to an enemy tank, or suffieciently tanky individual. Garen is all in all a great champion for any game type.

Welcome to Summoner's rift

The map above is the map of summoner's rift, the first, and most popular map of league of legends. There are obviously three lanes marked top, middle (mid), and bottom (bot). These three lanes are where the minions come to meet, as well as champions. The minions come out in waves and meet in the middle of these lanes. On these lanes are turrets that shoot at enemy champions that run near them, But more on that later. For now, i'm going to talk about another aspect of ranked games. Jungling.

The Jungle on summoner's rift
The image above is the jungle map of summoner's rift along with marked turrets, nexuses, and inhibitors. The jungle in summoner's rift has 3 buffs you can get from certain monsters. The first buff is the lizard buff. You get this from the armored lizard adjacent to the wraiths and golems. The lizard buff has a chance to slow enemy champioins upon a successful auto attack. It also deals damage over time. The second buff is the blue buff. The blue buff gives the champion that holds it increased mana regeneration. It's a must have for junglers especially in the early game.

A bit of clarification

As i wrote that last post, it later occurred to me that some people reading this might not be completely educated in the finer points of playing the game. Therefore i think i should write a bit about certain things that people might not understand.
Gank - A gank is basically an ambush where the champions on one team gather and jump out at the targeted enemy.
Critical strike - A critical strike basically scales by what attack damage (AD) the champion has and then doubles it.
Harrasment - Harrasment is used to keep champions away from gaining gold by killing minions. It's normally a distant attack used to deter champions.
Laning phase - The early part of the game where champions generally stick to their lanes without ganking too much.

I will get into a game overview next post to describe the actual events that usually take place in a match.

Ashe the Frost Archer

Ashe is the most prolific champion in league of legends. She is used by new players as well as veteran teams. The reason i'm dedicating a whole post to her is because she is the most used champion in the game by far. Her passive ability is called focus. It increases her critical strike chance every 3 seconds. The bonus is gained upon using an auto attack. Her first ability is frost shot. Frost shot applies a slowing effect to her auto attacks. It costs mana per shot. In the early game, this ability is great for ganking as well as running away. However in the late game, the ability is mainly used as a small disruptor for champions trying to chase an ally or run away from one. Her next active ability is called volley. She fires a cone of arrowsapplying a slowing effect as well as damaging targets caught in the cone. It costs 60 mana, and the cone has a range of 1200. It's primarily used as an attack in the early laning phase. As the game goes on, it is used more as a harrassment technique. It's wide range of damage helps during team fights because it slows them as well. Her third ability is hawk shot. Hawk shot sends out a small hawk that reveals the brush, as well as letting ashe's team see through the fog of war. The passive ability of hawk shot gives ashe extra gold for killing enemies and structures. Ashe's ultimate, and most useful ability is called enchanted crystal arrow. The arrow is sent out in a straight line and deals damage while applying a stun and slow to the champion it hits. The damage is actually applied to enemy champions close by as well. The only reason i picked Ashe out first is because she is the most popular champion in leage of legends by far.
